MAURY RIVER FIDDLERS’ CONVENTION

June 17, 18, and 19, 2010

Please join us for the 17^th annual Maury River Fiddlers’ Convention. Host bands The Company Store and Grit City Grass will entertain the crowd between competitions. Individual competition will begin Thursday night and continue on Saturday afternoon following the children’s competition. Flat-footing and folk song contests will be held on Saturday morning. Old Time bands and Bluegrass bands play Friday and Saturday nights.

The convention is held at Glen Maury Park in Buena Vista, Virginia. Nestled at the foot of the Blue Ridge and bordered by the Maury River, Glen Maury Park is a beautiful place to gather with friends for music, fellowship and fun. The park office has vending machines for quick snacks and various food concessions will be available. Grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, and more are only five minutes away. Vista Links Golf Course, nature trails, fishing, swimming, tennis courts, and a volleyball area are close by and provide excellent outdoor recreation. Historic Lexington and the Natural Bridge are only 15 minutes away

ADMISSION

$10.00 per night Thursday, Friday, and Saturday

$30.00 for a three day pass

Camping is $20.00 for sites with electric and water hook-ups per night per site on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights and $15.00 for sites with no electric and water hook-ups per night per site on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. All rough, tent camping at the river will be $13.00 per night per site. Prior to that, camping is at the normal fee charged by Glen Maury Park and must be paid for at the Park Office.

Saving camping spaces will not be permitted.
